Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg position on night shift requiring an active VA or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

• Work in the Medical-Surgical unit (5A) of a 250-bed academic community hospital
• 24-bed unit serving patients of all ages
• Maintains a 1:6 patient ratio
• Uses Meditech EHR system
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend or as needed shift requirement
• Call requirements as needed
• Floating required as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact) for Virginia currently in hand
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Handle With Care (HWC, available on-site), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• 2+ years of Med/Surg experience preferred
• Professional demeanor required

Additional Information

• Provide medical-surgical nursing care to a diverse patient population across all age groups
• Facility is the region's only designated Chest Pain Center and Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center
• Any scrub color accepted but casual wear is not permitted
• Candidates must consent to random on-site drug screening and complete a Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form
• Must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment
