Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a Med/Surg setting, ensuring patient safety and promoting recovery. Collaborates with healthcare team members to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and monitor patient responses according to physicians' orders.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update patient care plans.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress accurately in electronic health records.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, procedures, and post-discharge care.
• Assist with complex medical procedures, including ventilator management and orthopedic care.
• Float within Med/Surg units as needed to support staffing requirements.

Qualifications:

• Obtain and maintain necessary licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Demonstrate at least 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience.
• Proficient in EPIC electronic health record systems.
• Hold current BLS certification and COVID vaccination.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Maintain NY State RN license with good standing.
