The goal of this plan is to strengthen enrollment and ensure scholars attend a newer school building that offers more educational opportunities, including algebra in the eighth grade, more sports and extracurricular activities, and college credits and college and career pathways in high school. BBF is ensuring academic excellence so every CMSD scholar can thrive.The OpportunityLocation: As AssignedFLSA Status: Non-ExemptHourly Rate: $ 21.49Union: Local 860Under the immediate supervision of custodian, performs miscellaneous unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in the care and operation of public schools; performs related work as required.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesKeeps building and grounds, including sidewalks, driveways and play areas neat and clean at all timesMonitors heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of fuel, water and electricityOperates boilers, pumps and related equipment under the supervision of the custodianShovels, plows and salts walks, driveways, parking areas and steps, when requiredPerforms such yard-keeping chores as grass cutting, trimming of trees and shrubbery and the like as necessary to maintain the school grounds in a safe and attractive conditionMakes such building repairs of which he/she is capableAssists with the ongoing preventive maintenance in accordance with the established Preventive Maintenance Manual and LogPerforms other related duties as required and observes strict compliance with established proceduresQualificationsHigh School diploma or GED requiredValid High Pressure Boiler Operators License issued by the State of Ohio, preferredExperience in school building maintenance, preferredSuccessful completion of Civil Service ExaminationGood work record including performance, attendance and punctualityWorking Conditions/Physical DemandsThe characteristics listed below are representative of the work environment typically encountered by an individual while performing the essential duties of this position.
