Position Details

Job Title: Composite Mechanic
Location: Wichita, KS
Pay Rate: $67.00 - $70.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (6-Month Assignment)
Schedule: Monday-Friday | First Shift

As a Composite Mechanic, you'll play a critical role in maintaining and restoring the structural integrity of advanced aircraft components. This position requires an experienced repair professional who can independently evaluate repair requirements, apply advanced composite repair techniques, and serve as a technical resource within the organization.

Your expertise will directly contribute to aircraft safety, quality, and operational performance.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

• Perform advanced composite repair activities on aerostructures and aircraft components.
• Evaluate repair requirements and determine the appropriate repair methods and processes.
• Interpret engineering drawings, repair instructions, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Execute complex composite repairs requiring a high level of technical skill and craftsmanship.
• Troubleshoot structural and composite-related issues and develop effective repair solutions.
• Ensure all repairs meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as a technical resource and subject matter expert for composite repair activities.
• Work independently while maintaining compliance with aerospace manufacturing and repair standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance repair quality and efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive experience performing composite repairs in an aerospace, aviation, or aerostructures environment.
• Advanced knowledge of composite materials, repair methods, and structural repair techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and repair documentation.
• Proven ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience performing complex repairs with a high degree of precision and quality.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and workmanship excellence.

Important Note

This is not a traditional Composite Layup position.

We are specifically seeking candidates with heavy composite repair experience , including structural composite repair and modification work.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting commercial aircraft programs.
• Experience performing repairs on advanced composite aircraft structures is highly preferred.
• Background in commercial aircraft structures, aerostructures manufacturing, or aircraft maintenance and repair.
• Experience serving as a technical lead, mentor, or subject matter expert within a repair environment.
• Familiarity with advanced composite manufacturing and repair technologies.

Pay Details: $67.00 to $70.00 per hour
