Medical Education Coordinator

Position Summary Coordinate and co‑coordinate activities for the Family Practice Residency Program, Podiatry Residency Program, and any additional Residency and Fellowship Programs in which the Hospital becomes accredited to train. Assist the Undergraduate Medical Education Administrator with the activities of the undergraduate medical education (student‑physician) program as needed. Essential Responsibilities Assist in overseeing day‑to‑day activities of Residency/Fellowship Programs and Student‑Physicians as necessary, ensuring that residency schedules, lectures, didactics, and all other daily activities are coordinated. Ensure residents, fellows, and student‑physicians maintain logbooks and required records as part of their training. Maintain historic records of the program, verifying participation and completion of all graduate physicians. Maintain accurate records of participants’ activities. Coordinate student rotations with medical universities and other clinical programs, in coordination with the undergraduate medical education administrator. Coordinate resident/fellow vacation and leave requests with Program Directors, call schedules, and case presentation schedules. Monitor and stay current on individual and program requirements for internship, residency, and fellowship programs. Provide administrative support for all intern/resident/fellow educational activities. Recruit, interview, and select new interns/residents using appropriate software for each program’s accreditor. Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, regulatory agencies, and ACGME/CPME standards. Skills and Abilities Broad knowledge in planning, coordination, and implementation of educational and training programs. Proficiency in information management, including word processing and data processing (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace). Knowledge of New Innovations residency management program desirable. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Use language and mathematical skills to analyze and interpret financial reports, statistics, and related materials. Identify problems and make decisions based on experience, judgment, and established facts. Perform other duties as assigned. Bilingual (English/Spanish) desirable. Physical Demands Light work: Exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or frequently. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree, and sitting most of the time. Environmental Conditions Inside: Protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Mathematical Development General math: Practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, measurement, and statistical data analysis. Reading Read scientific and technical journals, abstracts, and financial reports. Writing Write journals, speeches, and manuals. Speaking Conversant in the theory, principles, and methods of effective and persuasive speaking, voice and diction, phonetics, and discussion and debate. Relationships to Data, People and Things Data: Analyzing – examining and evaluating data; presenting alternative actions in relation to the evaluation is frequently involved. People: Speaking‑signaling – talking with and/or signaling people to convey or exchange information; includes giving assignments and/or directions to helpers or assistants. Things: Handling – using body members, hand tools, and/or special devices to work, move, or carry objects or materials. Qualifications – Specific Vocational Preparation Four‑year degree (bachelor’s degree or equivalent) required; preference for graduate degree or advanced training/certifications in relevant fields. Two‑year degree (associate degree or equivalent) with significant experience in graduate medical education will be considered. Education and Experience Prior work experience involving graduate medical education in a health‑care/hospital setting required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
