Director Of PurchasingWe are seeking a strategic, results-oriented Director of Purchasing to lead all procurement, sourcing, inventory, and receiving operations for our premier 44-acre resort in San Diego. This Director of Purchasing position offers an excellent opportunity to manage hospitality purchasing and resort operations. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services that support resort operations while maintaining the highest standards of quality, service, and compliance.The Director of Purchasing partners closely with department leaders across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Culinary, Engineering, Spa, Recreation, and Finance to develop sourcing strategies, manage vendor relationships, negotiate supplier contracts, and optimize inventory management levels. This position plays a critical role in controlling costs, maximizing operational efficiency, and supporting an exceptional guest experience.The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong hospitality purchasing experience, exceptional vendor negotiation skills, and a proven ability to balance cost control and fiscal responsibility with operational needs in a fast-paced resort environment.What success looks like:The Director of Purchasing is a trusted business partner who ensures the resort has the products, services, and resources needed to operate efficiently while driving value, controlling costs, and supporting memorable guest experiences. Through effective leadership, strategic sourcing, and operational excellence, this role contributes directly to the resort's financial performance and overall success.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality Management, Finance, or a related field preferred.Minimum 5 years of purchasing or procurement leadership experience, preferably within a resort, hotel, or hospitality purchasing environment.Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, vendor contract negotiation, inventory management, and supply chain operations.Experience with hospitality purchasing systems, inventory management controls, and ERP software platforms.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a dynamic operational environment.Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication, relationship-building, and leadership abilities.BenefitsDavidson Hospitality Group is an award-winning, full-service hospitality management company overseeing hotels, restaurants, dining and entertainment venues across the US.
