There will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after the event passes or be part of the relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed on each emergency event, as impacts vary. By signing your travel contract to take a position, you accept the above. You should not apply for this role if you are not comfortable with the above. First-time travelers are welcome. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4. Experience with Epic charting system is required. There is a float requirement with weekend coverage every other weekend. The patient population includes hematology, medical oncology, and bone marrow transplant patients. This unit features a 7-bed positive pressure wing for patients. Bedside CVC placements and bone marrow biopsies may be required. Equipment used includes Alaris IV pumps, barcode medication administration systems, and SCD machines. Patient diagnoses primarily include cancer diagnosis and treatment. Med/Surg experience is required. Interdisciplinary support includes various therapy and support services. Certifications in BLS and ACLS are required. Additional skills include managing chemotherapy, blood product administration, and various patient care protocols.
