Role Overview The Senior Accountant reports to the Assistant Controller with responsibilities supporting the organization’s finance and accounting teams. Key focuses for this position include assisting with overseeing day-to-day accounting functions including financial statement preparation, general ledger maintenance, auditing, and process improvements. This position sits at Ceco’s corporate headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri. Primary Responsibilities Prepares schedules, reconciliations, and documentation for use in multiple sales tax filings. Researches and communicates sales tax matters to company stakeholders. Works with regionally based managers to obtain and renew required state and municipal business licenses. Manages new vendor setup and maintenance requests. Maintains and reconciles general ledger accounts along with other month-end closing activities. Performs special projects and completes all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization. Minimum Qualifications Accounting bachelor’s degree or related field and five years of related work experience. Knowledge of construction industry concepts and practices strongly preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving skills with the ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) and relevant accounting software experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar accounting/ERP system.
