Senior Accountant *Candidates must live in commuting distance to St. Francois County, MO* Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant with a strong understanding of full-cycle accounting to lead our accounting team. The ideal candidate will bring excellent analytical skills and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP principles. This role will oversee a broad range of accounting activities and provide leadership to the accounting team, helping to foster a collaborative and accountable work environment. The position is intended to grow into a Controller role over time. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting, in accordance with GAAP. Manage the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations. Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to support business decision-making. Support external audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries; ensure financial records are complete and accurate. Monitor changes in accounting standards or regulatory requirements and update internal policies and procedures as needed. Handle insurance oversight, including reporting and renewals. Provide support to other accounting functions and special projects as needed.
