This role is responsible for assessing components against system-level requirements and partners with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Reliability groups to help develop, evaluate, and troubleshoot components through supplier interactions.At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment VISA for this position at this time.Your responsibilities will include: Collaborating with R&D to develop, evaluate, and qualify polymer-related components for use in medical device applicationsUnderstanding the manufacturing industry to assist with sourcing decisions regarding key suppliersWorking with global suppliers to understand manufacturing processes and ensure quality and reliability can be repeated and reproduced throughout the life of the component(s)Partnering with suppliers and category team members to investigate supplied material issues, supply constraints and to support value improvement initiativesInvestigating and evaluating new and existing technologies to improve the quality and reliability for current and future componentsPerforming technical tasks to ensure component performance and supplier capability including the completion of First Article reports (statistical capability assessment), ensuring material regulation compliance, and executing engineering change requests to ensure continued high performanceSupporting the BSC commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and proceduresRequired qualificationsBachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline with a least 2 years of manufacturing operations experience Experience working in medical device or similarly regulated industry Experience with polymer manufacturing technologies (injection molding, extrusions, chemical and polymer processing) Working knowledge of statistical methods, six sigma and DOE Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with internal and external teamsAbility to travel up to 10% globally Preferred qualificationsBachelor’s degree in (Chemical, Mechanical or Polymer) Engineering or Materials ScienceExperience working with suppliers and contract manufacturersSelf-starter with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skillsEffective communication and presentation skillsRequisition ID: 633396Minimum Salary: $ 71500Maximum Salary: $ 135800The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role.
