Because Amex Tech is powered by our technology, our culture, and our colleagues.As a Senior Manager, Technology Operations Support, you will be essential in providing enterprise services to ensure high levels of product availability for the customers and partners of American ExpressResponsibilitiesMentor junior and cross-functional team of colleagues, fostering a culture of excellence and innovationResolve complex incidents and problems, leveraging cross-functional teams to implement robust solutionsArchitect and optimize technology service delivery processes, ensuring scalability and efficiencyOversee the maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of advanced and complex systems to ensure optimal performanceFormulate and enforce policies, procedures, and best practices to maintain system integrity, security, and performanceLead large-scale application maintenance projects, including performance tuning, major enhancements, and comprehensive backup and recovery processesCollaborate with senior stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure the alignment of technology solutions with strategic goalsDrive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging emerging technologies and industry best practicesMay or may not provide high-level leadership and strategic direction to the technology service delivery team, ensuring alignment with business objectivesMay or may not recruit, develop, and retain top talent, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvementCollaborate and co-create effectively with teams in product and the business to align technology initiatives with business objectivesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, and/or comparable experience; advanced degree preferred. 8+ years of varied experience in software engineering or service delivery. Knowledge of distributed multi-tiered systems, algorithms, and relational databasesKnowledge of data structures and associated components to support complex system functionalityKnowledge of infrastructure technologies such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and components like servers, Java Virtual Machines (JVMs), databases, and networking solutionsKnowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) practiceExperience in technology service delivery, application maintenance, or technical supportExperience in recruiting, training, and developing senior-level team membersExperience in managing large-scale, complex technical projects and delivering high-quality resultsExperience in leading the design and coding across multiple platforms and languages such as Java, HTML5, JavaScript, and .NETExperience in strategic planning and implementing technology service delivery enhancementsProficient verbal and written communication skills.
