In response, Jacobs is expanding its Energy & Power Solutions team to tackle the complexities of utility modernization to deliver a cleaner and more secure energy future. Jacobs is seeking a senior leader who will help plan, mobilize, and deliver a first-of-its-kind, major utility infrastructure project using a collaborative delivery model such as Progressive Design-Build or GM/GC. The selected candidate will lead a critical workstream and will work directly with owner representatives, designers, contractor partners, subconsultants, and public agencies to advance scope definition, packaging, risk management, permitting strategy, stakeholder coordination, and execution planning over the life of this multi-year project.This position will offer you the opportunity to lead and further grow a project team involved in managing projects through various phases from concept to engineering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and close-out of new and modified existing infrastructure. You will work as a lead across a multi-disciplinary team to manage the overall successful delivery of the assigned projects and to ensure projects adhere to client expectations What you’ll doIn accordance with the Client’s Project Management process, prepare and/or update financial forecasts, project schedules, and other necessary reports on a weekly or monthly basis, or as required. Manage client relationships to ensure all expectations are understood and met. Work with the broader Jacobs team as necessary to ensure stewardship of positive client relationships, including active involvement in the resolution of any client concerns.Demonstrate ability to work proactively and collaboratively on an alternative delivery project where designers, contractors, and owner work together to provide transparent estimating, schedule validation, value engineering, and progression toward negotiated scope and price. Monitor assigned projects to minimize risk and adhere to project budget, schedule, scope, and quality and identifying / mitigating risks as they arise.Manage project communications and promptly respond to project inquiries from client management or support teams as necessary.Notify project stakeholder immediately if the project is forecast to exceed approved budget or schedule or if significant project risks or issues have been identified.Coordinate engineering design development, drawing submittals and quality review process.Manage the resolution of emergent field issues as they arise, in accordance with all codes, environmental, and safety requirements.Track and manage project compliance (non-regulatory and regulatory).Support resolution of any siting/permitting, municipality, and/or abutter issues.Lead in developing and pursuing business opportunities with existing or new potential clients.Support Jacobs operational and business development teams with proposals or other materials for new business opportunities. Mentor staff and help build a stable long-term leadership teams. #LI-CC1 #epjobs #naepjobs Here's what you'll need Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program OR professional accreditation, registration, or licensure in their respective field, as applicable.Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing distribution-level electrical infrastructure projects and project leadership experience utilizing alternative delivery models such as Progressive Design-Build, GM/GC, or similar.Specific experience in the management and delivery of power infrastructure projects. Demonstrated ability to minimize impacts on residents, businesses, and the public.Experience managing all phases of projects from early-stage authorization, charter, or concept to commissioning and close out.Experience and understanding of multi-disciplinary project delivery team consisting of electrical, civil, structural, environmental, siting and permitting, commissioning, and testing, and general contractor/constructor’s scopes of work.Experience with document control, project control, and cost control software commonly used for project management in the utility industry and/or ability to learn required client system software.Comfortable and effective working independently, as well as leading and collaboratively working in cross functional teams with multi-levels of the organization including owner’s personnel and contractors.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent technical, analytical, and organizational skills.Excellence in the development and delivery of presentation materialsProven excellence with verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; including proposal development, negotiation, and consensus-building skills.Experience and training with general project management processes used within the utility industry.Willing to travel to project sites and/or attend client meetings.Desired but not required skills and experience:PMP CertificationExperience with trenchless methods, urban civil work, restoration, traffic control, and utility conflict management.Extensive Progressive-Design Build Delivery ExperienceEngineering degree and PE LicenseConstruction, commissioning, and start-up experienceOur health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about.
