Psychiatrist – Fountain House (Part-Time) Location: Manhattan, NY Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and compassionate part‑time Psychiatrist to join our dedicated healthcare team at the Fountain House location in New York, NY. The Psychiatrist will diagnose and treat psychiatric conditions, provide medication management, conduct evaluations, and offer therapeutic interventions to promote mental health and wellness for our underserved population. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct psychiatric evaluations, including comprehensive assessments and diagnosis of mental health conditions. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including medication management and therapeutic interventions in coordination with the treatment team. Provide ongoing medication monitoring, pharmacy plan updates, and psychiatric care. Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and lifestyle changes. Collaborate with primary care providers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure holistic, integrated care. Participate in case conferences, treatment planning meetings, high‑risk meetings, and multidisciplinary team efforts. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions, complying with regulatory and legal requirements. Offer crisis intervention and manage psychiatric emergencies as needed. Engage in continuous professional development and keep up-to-date with advances in psychiatry. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives to improve patient care and clinical outcomes. Provide supervision to psychiatric nurse practitioners and other staff as required. Minimum Education Requirement Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) with a focus in Psychiatry. Minimum Work Experience 3–5 years of clinical experience in psychiatry, preferably within community health or Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC). Experience with diverse backgrounds and co‑occurring disorders is highly desirable. Licensure and Certifications Valid and active New York State medical license. Board Certification in Psychiatry preferred or Board Eligible for recent graduates. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. DEA License (active or eligible). Required Skills & Knowledge Proficient in diagnosing and treating a variety of psychiatric conditions. Compassionate, patient‑centered care with a trust‑building environment. Knowledge of current psychiatric guidelines and best practices. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for multidisciplinary collaboration. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, high‑demand environment while maintaining quality care. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred but not required. Compensation Part‑time hourly rate: $138.62 – $150.58.
