Associate Director, Workforce Intelligence

Vertex Pharmaceuticals

Vertex Pharmaceuticals seeks an Associate Director of Workforce Intelligence to lead analytics, research, and forecasting that informs workforce planning and organizational decisions. The role combines workforce analytics with applied research and AI-enabled automation to deliver decision-ready insights for senior leaders across the organization.

Responsibilities

Lead workforce planning analytics, reporting, and forecasting including headcount, hiring, attrition, and cost analysis
Produce trusted, decision-ready workforce reporting and scenarios with clear assumptions and recommendations for executives
Advance governed, conversational analytics capability allowing leaders to query workforce data in plain language
Design and conduct applied research and measurement studies to assess workforce transformation and AI-enabled initiatives
Build and automate recurring reporting and analytical products using code and approved AI tools to reduce manual effort

Requirements

Advanced degree in I/O psychology, organizational science, statistics, data science, or related quantitative field; doctorate preferred
8+ years of combined applied research and hands-on workforce analytics, reporting, and forecasting experience
Proficiency in Python or R, SQL, and modern BI platforms such as Workday and Power BI
Experience building semantic models and data products for governed cloud platforms like Snowflake
Deep knowledge of workforce planning, organization design, job architecture, and position management
Strong executive communication, data storytelling, and ability to explain assumptions and trade-offs to senior stakeholders
Demonstrated practical fluency with AI tools and sound judgment on responsible AI use
