HVAC Installer / Service Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Installer / Service Technician with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing residential and/or commercial HVAC systems. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable, dependable, customer-focused, and able to work independently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Install, replace, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems, including air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, package units, and related equipment.
• Perform system diagnostics and identify mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and recommend repairs or system improvements when needed.
• Properly install and connect ductwork, refrigerant lines, electrical components, thermostats, condensate systems, and other HVAC components.
• Start up and test newly installed equipment to ensure proper operation, efficiency, and safety.
• Read and interpret equipment specifications, wiring diagrams, installation manuals, and service documents.
• Follow all applicable safety procedures, building codes, manufacturer specifications, and industry standards.
• Communicate professionally with customers and explain system issues, repairs, and maintenance recommendations.
• Maintain accurate service records, job documentation, and equipment information.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly care for company tools and equipment.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Respond to service calls and complete assigned work in a timely and professional manner.
• Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of HVAC installation and service experience.
• Strong knowledge of residential and/or commercial HVAC systems.
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting, refrigerant systems, airflow, ductwork, and controls.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
• EPA 608 certification required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to safely lift equipment and materials and perform physical work as required.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work in hot, cold, confined, and outdoor environments.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and committed to quality workmanship.

Preferred Qualifications

• HVAC trade school or technical training.
• NATE certification or other recognized HVAC certifications.
• Experience with high-efficiency systems, heat pumps, mini-splits, and variable-speed equipment.
• Experience with commercial HVAC equipment.
• Familiarity with local mechanical and building codes.
