WHAT TO EXPECT As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward thinking, open-minded and well-rounded individuals to join our global team as a District Sales Manager. You will be working remotely out of your home office and will be responsible for traveling to and selling Gates products throughout the assigned territory. You will be responsible for selling and promoting the Gates Fluid Power and Power Transmission product lines. Your territory will be British Columbia. Your goals will include meeting or exceeding an annual sales quota along with achieving specific strategic initiatives which align with higher level organizational goals. You'll use a consultative selling approach, your technical expertise, and ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with both distributors and end users towards these goals. You will research customer needs and develop an understanding of their applications, then apply the proper Gates technologies to improve their overall cost of ownership and productivity. You'll work in collaboration with an amazing group of individuals at Gates, across all business functions.
Key responsibilities (to name a few): Developing and executing growth strategies for both existing accounts as well as new prospective customers. Accelerating growth of new Gates products and solutions. Pursuing opportunities to expand our business in new markets. Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments within our target markets. Making regular sales calls to pursue and discuss opportunities, providing training and other technical support, and increasing overall mind share. Following up on leads (both self-generated and provided through marketing initiatives). Timely and accurate utilization of our CRM systems. Developing and maintaining short, mid, and long-term sales plans. Communicating high value sales activity to contribute to effective product and service planning. Providing top-quality, Gates customer service for all clients and prospects. Monitoring and communicating competitive activities to identify opportunities and/or countermeasures.
ABOUT YOU 3 years of progressive sales experience or equivalent industry knowledge High school degree or equivalent work experience is required. College degree in a business or engineering field is preferred. Experience in selling Fluid Power and/or Power Transmission products is highly preferred Firm understanding of the MRO business is preferred CRM experience is preferred Must be proficient with the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to drive long distances for extended periods of time Relocation is not provided Travel required for this position is 50-70%

Impacts the level of service and the team's ability to meet quality, volume and timeliness of objectives Guided by departmental policies, resource requirements, budgets and business plan Implements, Interprets and executes policies; makes process modifications Guides, influences and persuades others internally and/or externally
