Position: Senior Project Manager for Construction

Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Pay: $130,000 - $155,000 per year
Job Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

The Senior Construction Project Manager will lead and oversee the project throughout its lifecycle. This individual will coordinate project activities, support business development efforts, develop detailed estimates, maintain client relationships, and ensure projects are completed efficiently and profitably.

The ideal candidate will have strong construction experience, estimating knowledge, leadership skills, business judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from initial planning through completion.
• Develop detailed estimates based on project plans, specifications, scopes, labor requirements, materials, equipment, subcontractor pricing, and other project requirements.
• Review drawings, specifications, and other construction documents to identify project requirements and potential risks.
• Prepare accurate pricing, cost breakdowns, and proposals for prospective projects.
• Assist with conceptual and preliminary estimating when required.
• Assist with business development and proposal activities.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and business partners.
• Coordinate project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
• Establish and monitor project schedules, budgets, and overall progress.
• Review project requirements, contracts, scopes, and supporting documentation.
• Monitor costs and project performance to help ensure profitability.
• Coordinate procurement, permitting, and other project requirements.
• Review project billing and assist with collections and financial reporting.
• Ensure work is completed in accordance with applicable standards, requirements, and company expectations.
• Promote company safety practices and operational standards.
• Identify potential issues and work with the project team to develop solutions.
• Provide leadership, direction, and support to project personnel.
• Communicate project status and key issues to customers and company leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of relevant construction or service experience, with significant leadership experience.
• Strong construction estimating and project management experience.
• Ability to develop detailed and accurate project estimates.
• Strong understanding of construction operations, project costs, and financial performance.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, teams, and multiple projects.
• Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with internal and external teams.

Preferred

• Commercial construction experience.
• Experience with specialty trades.
• Familiarity with estimating, project management, ERP, or service management software.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, or similar.

Work Environment

• Regular interaction with office personnel, customers, vendors, and field teams.
• Periodic travel to project and customer locations.
• Ability to work in an active construction environment when required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally or regionally.
