JOB SUMMARY

The Principal Engineer is an expert in a particular field of engineering or within a particular sector. This role is experienced with leading design teams through full product development and into production. A Principal Engineer will be expected to demonstrate a level of expertise in a particular area that matches or exceeds the expertise of our customers. In addition, this role consults on system architectures, assesses technical requirements and competencies needed during quoting, and oversees design progressions during product developments.

• Sites with technical capability, resources, spare parts, documentation, and support required to restore equipment quickly and effectively after failures or degradation.

• Have the required Equipment Engineering technical knowledge and expertise available across sites.
• Have equipment capability that meets product and manufacturing requirements.
• Have the proper operating and physical conditions defined for each equipment.
• Have the critical equipment activities during production clearly defined.
• Have Equipment Recovery and Technical Support System available across sites.

• Through structured technical training, hands‑on coaching, equipment‑specific qualification, troubleshooting on real failures, OEM knowledge transfer, technical documentation, and competency validation.
• Through equipment specifications, capability requirements, technical acceptance criteria, equipment qualification, process capability validation, capacity verification, performance testing, and technical approval before production use.
• Through equipment baselines, calibration standards, critical parameter limits, machine condition requirements, capability checks, wear limits, restoration criteria, and periodic verification against the validated baseline.
• Through standardized checklists, equipment monitoring, critical parameter verification, inspections, and validation of equipment conditions during production.
• Through troubleshooting standards, diagnostic tools, critical spare‑parts strategy, technical documentation, escalation paths, OEM and supplier support, failure analysis, repair procedures, restoration standards, and MTTR reduction practices.

Education:

( min. required) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and 4+ years of relevant experience.

• 1. Equipment Technology ExpertiseSolder Paste Printers, SPI, Pick & Place, Reflow Ovens, AOI, X-Ray, Wave Soldering, Selective Soldering, Press‑Fit, Routing/Depaneling, Dispensing & Conformal Coating, Cleaning/Washing Systems, Takaya/Flying Probe, Conveyors, FIFO, and Material Handling equipment.
• 2. Equipment Technical FundamentalsMechanical systems, electrical systems, electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, PLCs, sensors, actuators, servos, motion systems, machine controls, interfaces, and automation fundamentals required to understand and diagnose manufacturing equipment.
• 3. Maintenance & Reliability EngineeringTPM, Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, Condition‑Based Maintenance, equipment calibration, equipment baselines, wear limits, equipment condition control, maintenance standards, maintenance frequencies, and reliability practices.

• Facilities & Equipment Integration: Experience coordinating equipment installations with Facilities, including utilities, infrastructure requirements, equipment layout, and installation readiness.
• Regional Deployment: Experience developing, standardizing, and replicating equipment engineering solutions and practices across multiple manufacturing sites.
• Business & Margin: Proven experience delivering measurable improvements in OEE, uptime, MTBF, MTTR, downtime, productivity, capacity, cost, and margin.
• Technical Ecosystem: Experience working with equipment OEMs, suppliers, Facilities, Operations, Process Engineering, customers, and technology partners to resolve equipment challenges and deploy solutions.
• Technical Leadership: Experience developing, mentoring, and transferring technical knowledge to Equipment Engineers, Technicians, and technical experts.

The pay range for this role is $157,600 - $283,800.
