Staff Nurse (RN)

Position Overview United Health Services (UHS) Chenango Memorial Hospital is seeking a compassionate and skilled Staff Registered Nurse (RN) or Graduate Nurse (GN) dedicated to protecting, promoting, and optimizing the health and well‑being of patients and families. Primary Department: Intensive Care Unit Primary Work Shift: Day Rotational Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 24 Compensation: $38.77 - $55.00 per hour, depending on experience Job Responsibilities Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients, serving as the primary nurse and/or accountable nurse when designated by unit assignment. Educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources. Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to UHS policy. Shares responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization including staffing, time management, supplies, and services. Complies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies. Actively participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model by attending Unit Council meetings, contributing to improvement initiatives, and participating in peer review practices. Engages in professional development, continuing nursing education, and completes all mandatory education requirements. Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice. Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. Performs duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned. Position Qualifications Minimum Required: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. Current NYS RN License or Valid NYS Limited Permit to practice as a GN. Preferred: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting. Professional certification in a related nursing specialty. Relevant skills certification (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by the home unit assigned. Sign‑On Incentive: Experienced candidates may be eligible for a sign‑on bonus of up to $15,000.
