Job Description Summary Responsible for ensuring that policies and procedures are followed to prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Reporting to the Treasurer of Proprietary 40 Act Funds, the role oversees Asset Management’s Accounting/Financial Reporting, Controls, Operations and 40 Act Regulatory adherence for the 1940 Act Funds. Acts as the liaison with Northern Trust partner areas, financial and accounting groups, and regulatory reporting groups. Duties and Responsibilities Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP for regulated and unregulated investment companies. Maintain knowledge of GAAP for investment companies and disclosure rules under RegulationS-X, FormN‑1A, and the Investment Company Act of 1940. Establish and maintain disclosure controls, procedures and internal controls over financial reporting under the Investment Company Act of 1940. Prepare and support items presented to the Independent Mutual Fund Board. Execute strategic direction of business function activities across multiple disciplines. Carry out complex initiatives involving ambiguous issues, balancing cross‑functional perspectives to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity. Participate in developing the division’s strategic plan, set goals and priorities, and follow through to ensure objectives are met. Qualifications Excellent oral and written communication skills. In‑depth functional/industry knowledge of asset management and treasury services. Highly flexible and adaptable to change. Leadership and organizational skills, including determination of the business unit’s goals, resource planning, and staff skill development. College or university degree. Minimum of 10 years of proven related work experience in the mutual‑fund and ETF industry, with specific experience with 1940 Act funds and financial reporting for these funds. CPA preferred.
