Job Description Summary Are you passionate about shaping the future of America’s youth? Boys Town is hiring a Family‑Teaching Couple team in Omaha, Nebraska. This full‑time, live‑in, 24×7 position offers a starting salary of $100,000 per couple, a $10,000 hiring bonus (subject to change), fully paid living expenses, and a benefits package that includes health, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, paid vacation and sick leave, and relocation assistance. Location • Schedule Location: Boys Town, Nebraska – Omaha, Nebraska. Schedule: Full Time, live‑in, 24×7. Responsibilities Live on‑site in a Boys Town Family Home and provide direct care for 6‑8 at‑risk youth by creating a safe, loving family‑style environment. Provide emotional support through praise, positive feedback, affection, and empathy to build youths’ self‑confidence and respect. Use rational problem‑solving techniques to teach critical‑thinking skills, assist with behavioral problems, counsel through personal issues, and provide crisis intervention. Plan, participate, and provide opportunities for individual and family activities that are educational and entertaining. Teach and model parenting, family, and relationship skills to youth, legal guardians, and caretakers to create family engagement. Maintain contact with internal and external consumer agencies to obtain or provide information regarding youth behaviors, strategies, and progress. Prepare written records for household budgeting, tracking youth progress, reporting incidents/behaviors, and documenting medical needs and appointments. Teach and role‑model Boys Town values and ethical behaviors, support participation in regular religious activities, and supervise assigned Assistant Family‑Teacher. Manage the daily operating schedule, assist with youth transportation needs, and oversee overall household upkeep. Adhere to safety and abuse risk‑management training, manage high‑risk activities, report inappropriate behaviors, and follow mandated abuse‑reporting requirements. Qualifications At least 21 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent required; some college credit preferred. Valid driver’s license with good driving record; ability to pass MVR check. Flexible and willing to work a wide array of hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to pass a thorough background check and reference verification. Ability to attend a 2‑week paid training in Omaha, Nebraska. Valid marriage certificate required. Current CPR and nationally recognized personal restraint model certification to be obtained during pre‑service training. Physical Requirements, Equipment Usage, Work Environment Maintain sufficient mental acuity, physical strength, agility, and endurance to perform all job requirements including stressful situations. Ability to push/pull at least 80 pounds of force, lift up to 50 pounds, carry safely up to 30 pounds, and reach overhead, bend, and squat. Perform tasks such as moving furniture, climbing stairs, cooking, playing games, maintaining exterior grounds, mowing, shoveling, and transporting youth regardless of weather. Work in an environment with constant interruptions, inappropriate behaviors, and potential verbal or physical threats.
