Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour

Are you passionate about early childhood education and creating meaningful learning experiences for young children? The YWCA is seeking a dedicated and experienced  Head Teacher / Head Associate Teacher to join our team!

The Head Teacher/Head Associate Teacher is responsible for planning, preparing, and implementing a high-quality, developmentally appropriate, and anti-bias educational program. This position works under the supervision of the Site Supervisor and plays an important role in creating a safe, engaging, and welcoming classroom environment for children and families.

Responsibilities Include:

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and weekly lesson plans.
• Create engaging activities that support children's cognitive, physical, social-emotional, linguistic, creative, and multicultural development.
• Conduct circle time, small-group activities, learning centers, dramatic play, art, music, science, and other hands-on learning experiences.
• Maintain compliance with  California Department of Social Services Community Care Licensing regulations and ECERS standards .
• Provide active supervision and ensure children's health, safety, and well-being throughout the day.
• Conduct developmental assessments, including  DRDP assessments , and communicate regularly with families regarding children's development.
• Conduct parent conferences and maintain appropriate confidentiality.
• Create and maintain an inviting classroom environment with appropriate learning centers and children's artwork.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized classroom environment.
• Participate in required staff meetings, professional development, and trainings.
• Maintain required credentials and certifications.

Qualifications:Head Teacher

• Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Required Early Childhood Education units.
• Valid or qualifying  California Child Development Permit .
• At least two years of experience working with children.

Head Associate Teacher

• Required Early Childhood Education units.
• Experience working with children.

Additional requirements include:

• Ability to meet California Community Care Licensing requirements.
• Ability to pass required background clearances.
• Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to perform the physical duties required in an early childhood classroom, including standing, sitting, bending, crouching, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work occasional evenings or Saturdays when required.

Compensation

Head Teacher: $28.00–$32.00 per hour
Head Associate Teacher: $25.00–$30.00 per hour
