Superintendent

Reports To: Project Executive/Project Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Position Description The Superintendent is responsible for the overall field management, coordination, and execution of construction projects. This role ensures that work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in strict accordance with contract documents, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. The Superintendent serves as the primary on-site leader, driving project success through proactive planning, team coordination, and strong communication with all stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Lead all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project closeout Develop, maintain, and enforce project schedules, including short-interval (look-ahead) planning Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and field staff to ensure efficient workflow Oversee daily site operations, logistics, and sequencing of work Ensure all work complies with contract documents, specifications, and applicable building codes Manage submittals, RFIs, and field documentation to ensure alignment with design intent Support project closeout, including punch list completion and turnover documentation Champion a culture of safety and enforce site-specific safety plans Conduct daily safety meetings, audits, and job hazard analyses Ensure compliance with OSHA and Pinner safety standards Collaborate with the Project Manager to align field activities with budget and cost controls Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and project records Lead subcontractor meetings and coordinate trade activities Monitor project progress and proactively identify and mitigate delays Qualifications Work in Los Angeles County or Orange County Minimum 5+ years of construction and Superintendent role experience Proven experience managing large-scale commercial, institutional, civil, or education projects Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6) OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred Proven written and verbal communications abilities; proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Creative Suite, scheduling programs, etc. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
