CNC Plasma Operator - 2nd Shift

At a Glance Company: Mettler Toledo Location: Columbus, Ohio Job Type: Full-Time Pay Range: $19–$28 per hour (DOE) Shift: 2nd Shift Overtime: Available as needed, including occasional weekends Experience Level: 1–3 years of CNC or fabrication experience Industry: Industrial Manufacturing / Vehicle Scale Systems --- Why This Role Exists As demand continues to grow across METTLER TOLEDO's Vehicle and Heavy Capacity product lines, the fabrication team is expanding to support production of critical components used in vehicle scale systems worldwide. This role plays an important part in ensuring high-quality fabricated components are produced safely, efficiently, and on schedule. You'll work with CNC plasma equipment and other fabrication machinery while supporting continuous improvement initiatives, maintaining quality standards, and helping drive production performance. --- The Work You'll Be Doing In this role, you will: Operate CNC plasma equipment and fabrication machinery Follow production schedules using blueprints, work instructions, and standard operating procedures Perform machine setups and make program modifications when required Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment Complete quality inspections on finished work and verify parts meet specifications Enter production and inventory data into SAP and other systems Support inventory control and material movement activities Operate forklifts, jib cranes, and overhead cranes safely Participate in Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives Troubleshoot equipment and process issues Present team performance metrics during daily Tier 1 meetings Provide support and guidance to entry-level fabricators Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, and productivity --- Machines, Controls & Software You'll work with equipment and systems such as: Machines CNC Plasma Cutting Equipment Punch Presses Small and Large Press Brakes Fabrication Equipment Material Handling Equipment Software SAP ERP TPM Systems Microsoft Office Material Handling Equipment Forklifts Jib Cranes Overhead Cranes Inspection Tools Tape Measures Quality Inspection Equipment Standard Fabrication Measurement Tools --- What We're Looking For Required High School Diploma or equivalent 1–3 years of manufacturing, fabrication, or CNC operating experience Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation Ability to read tape measures and work with fractions and decimals Experience operating CNC plasma equipment Ability to create and modify CNC programs Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Experience performing quality inspections Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment Willingness to work overtime when required Preferred Experience with SAP or ERP systems Experience operating press brakes and punching equipment Forklift certification or experience Lean Manufacturing and 5S experience Leadership or mentoring experience within a fabrication team --- Why Operators Like Working Here At METTLER TOLEDO, you'll join a global technology leader whose products support critical manufacturing, research, and quality processes around the world.
