Vacuum Pump Repair Technician - 1st Shift

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour (based on experience)

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Vacuum Pump Repair Technician to join our team on 1st shift. This position focuses primarily on the mechanical repair and refurbishment of vacuum pumps, including disassembly, cleaning, inspection, reassembly, and performance testing. While the role is largely mechanical in nature, vacuum pumps are electro-mechanical devices and may require basic electrical connections, diagnostics, and troubleshooting during the testing and repair process.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, enjoy hands-on repair work, and be comfortable performing basic electrical diagnostics when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Disassemble vacuum pumps and related equipment for inspection and repair.
• Clean, inspect, and evaluate components for wear, damage, and serviceability.
• Repair or replace mechanical components as needed.
• Reassemble vacuum pumps according to specifications and quality standards.
• Perform functional and performance testing of repaired equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and occasional electrical or electronic problems identified during testing.
• Interpret technical manuals, repair procedures, and schematics.
• Maintain accurate service and repair documentation.
• Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude with experience in equipment repair, maintenance, or assembly.
• Ability to use hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and testing equipment.
• Experience working with pumps, motors, rotating equipment, or industrial machinery preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical circuits and electronic troubleshooting is desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to lift and move equipment components as required.

Preferred Experience

• Background in industrial maintenance, mechanical repair, electromechanical assembly, or field service.
• Experience testing and troubleshooting vacuum pumps, compressors, or similar equipment.
• Familiarity with electrical testing tools, including multimeters.
