Lead Data Engineer
Location: Charlotte, NC 28273 (100% Onsite 5 Days/Week)
Position Type: 6 month Contract-to-Hire
Interview : Virtual and final in-person
Key Skills: Azure Databricks, Data Engineer, PySpark, Python, SQL, Delta Lake, ETL/ELT, Azure DevOps, Terraform, Power BI, MicroStrategy, Data Warehousing, Data Modeling.
Note:
- Must have strong hands-on experience with the latest version of Azure Databricks .
- Strong communication skills required.
- Experience leading and mentoring a team of Data Engineers is required.
- Power BI and MicroStrategy experience highly preferred.
- Reporting platform will be primarily Power BI.
Position Overview:
Our client, a large healthcare organization, is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience designing and developing enterprise data solutions using Azure Databricks, PySpark, SQL, and Delta Lake . This role will focus on building scalable data pipelines, modernizing data platforms, ensuring data quality, and leading a team of data engineers.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience working with Azure Databricks.
- 5+ years of experience in data warehouse analysis, design, and development.
- Strong knowledge of data warehouse methodologies, data modeling, and operational data stores.
- 5+ years of experience with ETL/ELT development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python, PySpark, SQL, and Terraform.
- Experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale data pipelines.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex data issues and provide scalable solutions.
- Excellent technical, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional certification preferred.
- Experience with Power BI and MicroStrategy reporting platforms.
- Experience with Unity Catalog, Azure security, and governance frameworks.
- Healthcare or regulated industry experience preferred.
