As a Security Armed Officer Charter School Part Time Armed Response in Bronx, NY , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $39.00 -$40.00 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or faculty by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Respond to incidents, critical situations, and/or alarms in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout campus buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations, remaining aware of unusual activity and helping to deter unauthorized access and/or disruptive behavior.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorized access when required, and support visitor management practices in accordance with site-specific protocols and applicable post orders.
• Assist with emergency and after-hours situations, provide clear communication during medical, behavioral, and/or security-related events, and support a professional presence across varying environments and conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
• Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
• Have 2 or more years of law enforcement, military, and/or corrections experience or a college degree.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
