Provide technical leadership through architecture discussions, code reviews, and engineering best practices while remaining close enough to the technology to guide critical decisions. Partner with Product and cross‑functional stakeholders to align engineering priorities with business objectives. Improve engineering processes, team operations, and delivery practices to increase efficiency and quality. Communicate effectively with executive leadership, providing updates, recommendations, and strategic input. Identify operational challenges and implement thoughtful process improvements with strong team engagement and buy‑in. Balance strategic leadership with day‑to‑day execution to ensure successful product delivery across multiple digital platforms. Education & Qualifications 7+ years of software engineering experience. Minimum of 3 years managing and developing engineering teams. Demonstrated success building healthy, high‑performing engineering organizations. Strong technical background with the ability to contribute to architectural discussions and technical decision‑making. Experience leading engineering teams in Agile development environments. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, from engineers to executive leadership. Proven ability to drive organizational change while maintaining team engagement and trust. Experience supporting e‑commerce platforms, retail technology, or internal business applications. Preferred Experience Experience with Shopify or leading teams supporting Shopify‑based e‑commerce platforms. Exposure to AI adoption initiatives and integrating AI into engineering workflows where appropriate. Experience with internal enterprise applications or intranet platforms. Background in retail, wholesale, or consumer‑facing organizations. Experience rebuilding engineering culture, improving morale, or scaling teams through periods of organizational change.
