The Opportunity
We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Walker that are seeking skilled General Managers. These organizations are dedicated to maintaining high standards and are looking for professionals who can contribute effectively. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency and quality.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve production targets and business growth.
- Manage financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and forecasting.
- Lead and mentor a team of department managers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
- Drive operational excellence initiatives to optimize processes and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with sales and R&D to align production with market demands and new product development.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations
- Demonstrated success in P&L management and financial acumen
- Proven ability to implement and optimize Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams
- Experience with regulatory compliance and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001)
Bonus Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
- Experience with ERP system implementation or optimization
- Demonstrated success in fostering a strong safety culture
- Fluency in a second language relevant to the workforce or customer base
