Senior Cost Accountant

We are seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join our client's dynamic team. This role involves preparing standard cost reports, analyzing manufacturing variances, verifying bills of material for standard costs, assisting with new product costing, supporting month-end close and reporting, and communicating potential opportunities to management. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $100,000 to $125,000 per year.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly financial reports using relevant support systems, including journal entries, inventory A/P accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  
  
• Assist with month-end closing, including reconciling perpetual inventories to the general ledger.
  
  
• Investigate and report on inventory adjustments.
  
  
• Support cost roll processes and new product costing as needed.
  
  
• Ensure proper retention, filing, and handling of accounting records.
  
  
• Prepare additional reports and assist with special projects and analyses as requested by the manager.
  
  

Requirements:

• Strong background in cost accounting or a willingness to learn, with a solid understanding of GAAP.
  
  
• Excellent communication skills.
  
  
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  
  
• Ability to work independently.
  
  
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field with a focus on accounting.
  
  
• 5+ years of professional experience.
  
  
• Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  
  
• Experience in Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical industries.
  
  
• ERP experience.
