QA Analyst - 15151

Overview 1 to 3 years of experience in quality assurance for an analytical, environmental, or other chemical laboratory. Position Description The Indiana Department of Health Chemistry Lab is implementing a new Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) that must meet complex reporting requirements for quality control and quality assurance. The QA Analyst will work with program developers to ensure all chemical quality assurance requirements are captured accurately in electronic formats, with a focus on traceability and system validation. Responsibilities include: In-depth review of chemistry data packages for various agencies (Indiana Dept of Environmental Management, Lead & Healthy Homes, EPA, and FDA) and the Laboratory Flexible Funding Model grant. Reviewing chemistry procedures for method deviations from published methods and evaluating chemical inventory systems. Validating Excel spreadsheets used for analytical calculations and reviewing annual competencies of 25 chemists across about 60 methods. Writing, revising, and verifying quality standards for program design and product evaluation to achieve efficient software quality. Evaluating program output and reports for accuracy, and recommending improvements or corrections to programmers. Identifying differences between established standards and user applications and suggesting modifications to conform to standards. Assisting with the development of laboratory AI procedures for spreadsheet validations and standard operating procedure validations. Qualifications Quality Assurance Analyst with approximately 1-3 years of experience in the field or a related area, possessing knowledge of common concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
