Human Resources Benefits Coordinator

Job Summary Assist all new and current employees with their benefits enrollment and changes. Process and maintain various Human Resource/Benefits records, including new hire enrollment, benefit changes, deduction calculations, discrepancy resolution files, retirement documents, leave documents, and other benefit‑related HR documents. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Communicate with current and potential employees regarding HR/Benefits processes and systems, and assist them in resolving benefit‑related questions. Scan, index, and retrieve documents into and from the college’s document management system. Generate and compile daily, weekly, and monthly transaction reports from ERS and HRIS for analysis, audit, reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution. Collaborate with Payroll to ensure accurate deduction data. Interface with internal and external systems (HRIS, TRS, ERS, etc.) to calculate monthly compensation and benefit deductions, and enter data into the Employee Retirement System of Texas (ERS). Develop and implement solutions to improve benefit‑related processes, resolve discrepancies, and correct HRIS processing errors. Prepare communication and payment/premium information for employees on leave to ensure accurate premium billing and collection tracking. Present and assist with New Hire Orientation and Summer Enrollment presentations. Maintain knowledge of TRS, ORP, FICA Alternative Plan, 403(b), and Texa$aver 457 to assist with enrollment and transfer of funds. Maintain knowledge of leave, FML, ADA, and ACA laws to process internal and external procedures and requirements, including the interactive process between employees and management. Collect information and data to prepare reports and files for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring completeness and accuracy. Review, research, and audit reports and employee information for accuracy, contacting supervisors or departments to resolve discrepancies. Manage document archival and disposal of materials. Supplemental Functions Perform other duties as assigned. Perform all duties in accordance with college policies, procedures, and Core Values. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of internal and external data systems. Knowledge of Collin College organization and HR processes. Knowledge of general office equipment. Knowledge of HR data and record‑retention policies. Knowledge of employee benefit programs. Intermediate Excel skill and other Microsoft Office skills. Interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Attention to detail and data audit ability. Ability to perform basic and intermediate Microsoft Office functions. Ability to create various HR reports. Ability to maintain working knowledge of systems and data requirements. Ability to review documents for compliance with college and accreditation requirements. Ability to prepare premium invoices. Ability to plan and implement assigned activities effectively. Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort Sedentary work. May require lifting up to 10 pounds occasionally and moving objects or the human body. Includes sitting most of the time, occasional walking, standing, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Office environment, negligible physical effort required. Required Qualifications Associate degree from an accredited institution plus two (2) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and business experience. Two (2) additional years of experience may be substituted for the education requirement. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Workday experience. ADA and FML experience. PHR or SHRM certification preferred. Security Sensitive Position This position is security sensitive; candidates will be subject to a criminal background check. Compensation Hiring Minimum: $51,480.00 Hiring Maximum: $62,774.50 Compensation determined based on experience.
