Litigation Attorney

Litigation Attorney (Hybrid - Temp to Hire) Location: Queens, NY Overview: On Call Counsel is seeking a dedicated Litigation Attorney with 1+ years of experience to join its client's team on a hybrid schedule (3 days per week in-office). This is a contract position with the potential to go perm offering excellent benefits, including free parking, free medical benefits upon hire, and a pension plan upon hire. The role involves engaging in litigation related to hiring, firing, disciplinary actions, and more, ensuring a balance between administrative hearings and more formal OATH cases. Key Responsibilities: Draft disciplinary charges, discovery requests, and responses. Prepare and draft decisions with or without a hearing. Handle redactions, trial preparation, and pretrial conferences. Conduct grievance-level hearings and settlement negotiations. Assist other attorneys with arbitration proceedings. Manage contractual or health and safety issues as needed. Prepare witnesses for hearings or trials. Represent clients in virtual hearings (trials may occasionally require in-person attendance). Requirements: Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to the Bar. Minimum of 1 year of litigation experience. Strong drafting, negotiation, and case preparation skills. Ability to manage disciplinary actions and procedural hearings. Experience with pretrial conferences, discovery, and trial preparation. Benefits (Upon Hire): Free parking.
