Design Engineer

About the Role

Lead the development of innovative, commercially successful products from initial concept through production. Own design outcomes, collaborate across departments, and drive measurable impact on product performance and market success. Thrive in hands-on problem solving, leading multi-departmental teams, and making a real impact on high-performing engineering initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Drive concepts to reality: rough sketches, FEA models, tooling, production-ready parts.
• Lead cross-functional teams: Marketing, Sales, Application Engineering, Manufacturing to bring products to market.
• Apply modern engineering tools: FEA (Abaqus preferred), SolidWorks, Python scripting, and 3D scanning to iterate, optimize, and validate designs.
• Prototype, test, and refine products hands-on in the lab; ensure manufacturability and quality.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Marketing, and Sales to align designs with business objectives and customer needs.
• Guide multi-department teams through design execution, including vendor selection, tooling, testing, and documentation.
• Support application of existing products and provide usage recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with engineering data security and department policies.
• Occasional travel to vendors, agencies, and production sites.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Engineering
• 5–10 years of product development or related experience

Required Skills

• Proficiency in SolidWorks and FEA (Abaqus preferred)
• Experience with Python scripting, 3D scanning, or fluid control products a plus
• Hands-on prototyping experience in lab and with light machinery

Preferred Skills

• Background in piping, pressure vessels, or couplings preferred
