Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator / Oracle SME to provide database administration, development, maintenance, monitoring, and production support across on-premises and cloud environments.

The Oracle SME will support Oracle Database, Oracle Grid, Oracle RMAN, and PL/SQL environments. Responsibilities include database provisioning, backup and recovery, patching, performance tuning, HA/DR, incident resolution, and change management.

Responsibilities:

• Administer, configure, maintain, and support enterprise Oracle Database environments.
• Create, configure, and maintain standalone and clustered Oracle databases.
• Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and troubleshoot Oracle database software.
• Support Oracle Grid infrastructure and associated clustered environments.
• Configure, manage, monitor, and validate Oracle RMAN backup and recovery processes.
• Develop and maintain PL/SQL scripts, packages, procedures, and database objects.
• Perform daily troubleshooting, issue triage, system setup, and database configuration.
• Monitor database availability, storage, capacity, performance, and system health.
• Perform database, SQL statement, optimizer, and storage-performance tuning.
• Design, implement, maintain, and test HA/DR solutions.
• Support recovery exercises, planned failovers, patching, and server reboots.
• Troubleshoot database, server, connectivity, application, and integration issues.
• Assist application teams and users with building and configuring Oracle databases.
• Manage incidents, service requests, and change requests using ServiceNow.
• Execute Requests for Change related to ongoing database maintenance.
• Resolve database-support tickets according to established service levels.
• Use SolarWinds, Idera, or comparable tools for monitoring and capacity planning.
• Lead complex production incidents and root-cause analysis.
• Establish and maintain Oracle operating procedures, standards, and runbooks.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, cloud, and business teams.
• Provide technical guidance to other database administrators.
• Prepare weekly reports covering support activities and accomplishments.
• Participate in periodically scheduled after-hours maintenance and production support.

Required Experience / Skills:

• Minimum 8 years of Oracle Database administration experience.
• Advanced Oracle Database administration and production-support experience.
• Strong experience with Oracle Grid.
• Strong experience with Oracle RMAN backup and recovery.
• Strong PL/SQL scripting and development experience.
• Experience creating and managing standalone and clustered Oracle databases.
• Experience with Oracle installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching.
• Experience with backup, restoration, database recovery, and maintenance.
• Experience implementing and supporting HA/DR environments.
• Strong Oracle performance-analysis and tuning experience.
• Experience supporting on-premises and cloud database environments.
• Experience troubleshooting database, server, connectivity, and application issues.
• Experience with ServiceNow or a comparable IT service-management platform.
• Experience with SolarWinds, Idera, or comparable monitoring tools.
• Working knowledge of SQL Server, SQL Clustering, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, or MS Access.
• Strong problem-solving, documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and provide technical leadership.
• Ability to work remotely and remain available through Microsoft Teams during assigned working hours.
