Job Overview

We are seeking 2 experienced QA Automation Engineers to support the Data Delivery Service (DDS) / FedLine (FL) initiative.

The ideal candidates will have strong hands-on experience in Java-based test automation , with a primary focus on API automation using Rest Assured and UI automation using Selenium or Playwright .

The role will be responsible for designing, developing, executing, and maintaining scalable automated testing solutions across API and UI components. The engineer will work closely with development, QA, and business teams to improve automation coverage, product reliability, and overall software quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute automated API functional tests using Java and Rest Assured .
• Develop and maintain automated UI functional tests using Selenium or Playwright .
• Identify and prioritize critical business workflows for automation.
• Build reusable, maintainable, configurable, and reliable test automation components .
• Integrate automated test cases with existing test infrastructure and CI/CD processes.
• Target approximately 80% automation coverage for DDS APIs , based on business priorities defined by FRFS.
• Target approximately 50% automation coverage for critical UI test cases , based on requirements defined by FRFS.
• Develop and execute manual functional test cases when required.
• Participate in software design and review sessions to ensure test plans align with business requirements.
• Execute test plans, document results, and provide detailed defect reporting.
• Perform root-cause analysis for issues identified during testing.
• Prepare and manage test data required for functional and automated testing.
• Support manual QA teams by identifying appropriate test cases for automation.
• Assist with test environment setup, configuration, maintenance, and validation.
• Integrate automated testing with reporting and monitoring tools.
• Participate in production deployment testing, validation, and remediation activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in Java-based automation code.
• Conduct peer reviews of test scripts, automation components, and other QA deliverables.
• Identify technical and operational issues and collaborate with relevant teams to resolve them.
• Participate in special projects and other testing activities as required.

Required Technical Skills

Java & Automation

• Strong hands-on experience with Java development for test automation .
• Proficiency with IntelliJ IDEA .
• Working knowledge of Maven and Java-based build/test frameworks.

API Automation

• Strong hands-on experience with REST API automation using Java Rest Assured .
• Experience developing comprehensive API functional test suites.
• Experience with API validation, assertions, test data, and error handling.
• Ability to design scalable and reusable API automation frameworks.

UI Automation

• Hands-on experience with Selenium or Playwright .
• Experience developing UI functional automation using Java.
• Ability to automate critical user workflows and interactions.
• Experience maintaining stable and reusable UI automation scripts.

Manual Testing

• Strong understanding of functional and regression testing.
• Experience creating and executing test cases and test plans.
• Experience with test management tools such as HP ALM or Xray .
• Ability to analyze test results and perform root-cause analysis.

CI/CD & Test Integration

• Experience integrating automated tests into existing QA/testing infrastructure.
• Understanding of CI/CD processes and automated test execution.
• Experience with test reporting and monitoring tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Fedwire applications is highly desirable.
• Experience with Fedwire Securities is a strong plus.
• Financial services or banking domain experience is preferred.
• Experience working in enterprise-scale application environments is advantageous.
