Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU

Registered Nurse Outpatient Surgery

Variable start times between 06:0008:30, mainly 08:30 shifts; MondayFriday schedule, no weekends.

Typical daily census of ~10 patients with a patient ratio of 1:2; expected to stay until patients are transitioned or discharged.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
• Charting system: Epic required.
• Core clinical skills include pre-op assessment/education, PACU Phase I & II recovery management, airway assessment, sedation monitoring, IV starts, pain assessment, and management of perioperative complications.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care pre-operatively and post-operatively.
• Monitor patients' recovery in PACU and manage their transitions.
• Administer medications and manage blood products as required.
• Conduct thorough pain assessments and medication reconciliations.
• Recognize and manage complications during the perioperative period.
• Educate patients and families regarding procedural care.

Orientation consists of 40 hours; requests for time off must be limited to no more than 7 days submitted upfront. Background checks will be conducted.
