Lead Software Engineer - AWS/Trading

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus 5+ years of applied experience
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages
• Direct experience in Macro or FICC businesses and trading systems, with an understanding of front office, middle office, and back office operations and workflows
• Demonstrated experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to set expectations for validating AI outputs for accuracy, performance, and security
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption
• Proficiency across all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Good exposure to AWS, Aurora, RDS, EC2, Athena, and Lambda
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems
• Practical cloud-native experience
• Preferred: proficiency in AWS including Aurora, RDS, EC2, CloudWatch, Iceberg, Kinesis, and Lambda, plus AWS Certified Practitioner or Architect certification
• Preferred: AI engineering experience with large language models, agentic AI, AI for automation, and anomaly detection

• Deliver creative software solutions, design and development work, and technical troubleshooting, approaching problems beyond routine methods
• Build secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others
• Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes
• Apply knowledge of SDLC tooling, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase automation value
• Identify opportunities to remove or automate recurring remediation work to strengthen application and system stability
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and fit within existing systems and information architecture
