Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payment Specialist to join our Payment Operations team. This role is responsible for handling in-person customer payments via cash, check, or credit card, reconciling deposits, and providing excellent customer service in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, composure in handling difficult customer interactions, and strong attention to detail in cash handling and reconciliation.

Daily Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

• Welcome and assist customers in person with payment processing.
• Provide information regarding payment options based on account details.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Secure and close the payment lobby at designated times.

Cash Handling:

• Receive and accurately count customer payments.
• Manage and secure funds in cash drawers or vaults.
• Provide change and balance cash drawers daily.
• Record and archive payment transactions and account notes.

Deposit Reconciliation:

• Reconcile daily cash drawers.
• Prepare deposits and coordinate with vendors to deliver funds to the bank and/or corporate office.
• Generate and submit daily activity reports.

Other Duties:

• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 1 year of payment handling or cash-handling experience.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with automated payment processing.
• Experience balancing cash drawers and completing deposit reconciliations.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems and make decisions independently.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under supervision but also independently when needed.
• Ability to maintain composure in stressful or hostile customer situations.
• Reliable attendance during scheduled business hours.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Pay $19.00 /hr.
