School Nurse Opportunity

Make an immediate impact supporting students as a dedicated registered nurse in a school-based setting, providing essential one-on-one care. This full-time, onsite contract position focuses on partnering closely with either a 3-year-old vent-dependent student or an 18-year-old student requiring trach support, allowing you to use your skills to create a safe, nurturing learning environment.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Illinois RN license required
• Prior school nursing experience is a plus, especially with pediatric populations
• Solid understanding of ventilator and tracheostomy care
• Strong communication skills and a reassuring, compassionate presence
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with educators, families, and healthcare teams

Responsibilities:

• Deliver continuous 1:1 care, closely monitoring the daily health and medical needs of your assigned student
• Manage ventilator or tracheostomy care, attending to emergencies swiftly and effectively
• Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and interventions according to care plans
• Maintain detailed, accurate health records and open lines of communication with parents and staff
• Support the students participation in classroom and school activities, serving as an advocate within the educational environment
• Provide health education and guidance as needed to the student and school team
