Application Security Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Application Security Engineer with a strong experience in cybersecurity and a passion for AI-driven automation. In this role, you will assess the security of internal and third-party applications, identify vulnerabilities, and help build innovative AI-powered solutions to streamline security assessments and compliance processes. This role is 4 days a week onsite in Seattle WA, 1 day a week remote.

Job Duties:

• Conduct security assessments of internally developed and third-party applications across the enterprise.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and vendor teams to understand application architecture and identify potential security risks.
• Develop and maintain standardized assessment frameworks and methodologies tailored to various application types and deployment models.
• Develop AI tools and techniques to automate and streamline security assessments, including compliance and policy enforcement, threat modeling, and supply chain security evaluation.
• Document findings and provide actionable recommendations to improve application security posture.
• Track remediation efforts and validate fixes to ensure risk reduction.
• Contribute to the development of secure design patterns and reusable security components.
• Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and AI-driven security innovations.
• Goal is to develop AI automation and work alongside FTEs to fast-track security systems.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience preferred.
• 3-5 years of direct application security experience is required.
• Strong experience conducting application security assessments (internal & third-party) is required.
• Deep understanding of secure SDLC, threat modeling, and vulnerability remediation is required.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance security workflows is required.

This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, WA.

The pay range for this position is $81.00 - $84.50/hr.
