The company manages IACMI - The Composites Institute, a leading national collaborative partner dedicated to advancing composite design, manufacturing, and workforce solutions. This Staff Accountant position is integral to supporting the core accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, and contributing to the operational efficiency of the organization’s public-private partnership. The successful candidate will contribute to a public-private partnership within a complex, project-based environment. The TL;DR Role: Early Career Type: Full-time Location: Hybrid, United States Pay: $60000-$72000 yearly Team: Reports to the Corporate Financial Controller, works closely with CCS headquarters functional area teams. Mission: Owns the execution of daily accounting processes, month-end reconciliations, and client billing to support the financial operations of the organization. Tech Stack: Microsoft Office, MS Excel, Asana What You’ll Actually Do Accounting Processes: Process daily accounting transactions for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash receipts, supporting payroll and client billing. Client Billing: Prepare and submit comprehensive monthly client billings, including all required supporting documents. Month-End Activities: Execute various month-end accounting processes and conduct detailed account reconciliations. Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with the accounting team to meet month-end closing deadlines, tracking assigned tasks in Asana. Process Improvement: Suggest improvements for existing accounting workflows and processes after thorough review. The Must-Haves Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent professional work experience. Experience: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel functions, coupled with demonstrated experience in a remote, paperless work setting. Ability to quickly learn and understand complex general ledger coding and project account structures. Skills: Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to manage tasks independently and balance multiple activities with competing deadlines.
