Phlebotomist I

State phlebotomy license required (Quest does not accept NHA licenses in CA, WA, NV). Phlebotomist I – Palmdale, CA – Monday to Friday, 7:00AM to 4:00PM, with rotational weekends. Pay range: $24.00 – $25.70 / hour. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonus compensation. Responsibilities Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening and insurance exams. Administer oral solutions according to established training. Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems, client contact, and approved tools. Navigate a computer and accurately enter data. Obtain identification and accurately enter billing information, collecting payments when required, following corporate policies. Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport as required by test order. Perform all non‑patient facing duties, including inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones and utilizing email as appropriate. Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures. Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required. Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner (maintenance logs, temperature logs, etc.). Complete online and in‑person training courses promptly. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Medical training preferred (medical assistant or paramedic). Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada and Washington. One year phlebotomy experience preferred. Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred. Keyboard/data entry experience. The position requires the ability to effectively communicate in English.
