Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS required.

Must-Have: Cardiac telemetry experience is required. Experience with IV start and telemetry, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Stepdown experience preferred.

Description: RTO after booking is not allowed. Any call-offs or additional RTO may result in a cancellation and DNR. The unit will accept first-time travelers, but stepdown experience is preferred. The average daily census is 23 patients with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:6. The unit requires quality nurses who can handle high acuity patients. Floating between units is required. Nurses must work 8 weekend shifts per contract. Patient diagnoses include cardiac arrhythmias, myocardial infarction, acute coronary syndrome, uncontrolled diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, heart failure, and post-operative care. Teamwork is essential as there are no charge nurses on the unit. Cardiac drips are managed, but there is no titration for blood pressure. Interdisciplinary support is provided by various teams including IV Services, Respiratory Services, and Social Services. Candidates must be open to floating within or near the facility. All testing must be completed within 48 hours of signing. Candidates must work 2 of 3 major holidays. RTO must be pre-approved, and no additional RTO can be requested after signing.
