Veterinary Client Service Representative (CSR)/Veterinary Receptionist Full-time | 4x10 schedule | Rotating Saturdays Thrive South Lamar, Austin, TX (South Lamar) About You You’re a warm, detail-oriented Client Service Representative (CSR) who enjoys helping pets and their people. You’re confident at the front desk—answering multi‑line phones, scheduling appointments, checking clients in/out, processing payments, and coordinating closely with the medical team in a fast‑paced hospital. Your Experience & Skills High school diploma or GED required 1+ years of customer service, reception, or front desk experience (veterinary/medical preferred) Excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational skills in a fast‑paced environment Comfortable on multi‑line phones, appointment scheduling, and client check‑in/check‑out Accurate payment processing and cash handling Comfort using computers, tablets, email, and Microsoft Office; able to learn practice management software Empathetic listener with strong problem‑solving and de‑escalation skills Comfortable working around animals and assisting with safe patient flow as needed Bilingual a plus Ability to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance and more than 40 pounds with assistance, with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to work on your feet and stay on task for the full shift (up to 10+ hours) Preferred: Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures Preferred: Ability to type 45 words per minute and use a 10‑key adding machine Responsibilities (including, but not limited to) Greet clients and patients, check them in/out, and maintain a calm, welcoming front‑desk experience Answer multi‑line phones, triage and route calls/messages, and document client communication accurately Schedule appointments and communicate instructions, wait times, and updates with empathy and professionalism Verify and update client/patient information to support efficient appointment flow and accurate records Coordinate closely with technicians and doctors to ensure client needs, messages, and follow‑ups are communicated clearly Process payments accurately (including cash handling) and assist with estimates/invoices as needed Maintain an organized lobby and front‑desk area; support readiness of client‑facing spaces Skills & Development You can build your skills and earn credentials through the following resources: Our vast, diverse, and free library of continuing education courses – ThriveU Live, virtual interactive workshops to develop valuable leadership skills A program designed to teach you the fundamentals of running a pet hospital Benefits Competitive pay 401(k) with employer match Mental health resources, including easy access to therapy through Lyra Health Paid parental leave Purr-ental leave for when you adopt a pet Subsidized backup childcare and elder care Expert advice, support and network discounts for fertility and family planning FREE CE courses Pet perks and veterinary service discounts Student loan support tools and assistance Some benefits shown are only for full‑time team members who work 30 hours or more per week.
