• Greeting customers warmly and identifying their needs.
• Recommending cookware, bakeware, kitchen tools, appliances, cutlery, tabletop items, and home décor based on customers’ preferences.
• Demonstrating products, including explaining features and benefits or performing cooking demonstrations when applicable.
• Meeting or exceeding individual and store sales goals.
• Processing purchases, returns, exchanges, and gift cards accurately at the register.
• Maintaining an attractive sales floor by stocking merchandise, creating displays, and ensuring products are clean and organized.
• Learning product knowledge to confidently answer customer questions and make recommendations.
• Willingness to learn and sharpen knives 
• Assisting with receiving shipments, inventory counts, and restocking.
• Following store policies for safety, loss prevention, and customer service.
• Working collaboratively with managers and fellow associates to achieve store objectives.

Skills typically sought

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Sales experience (retail sales is preferred but often not required).
• Passion for cooking, food, or home entertaining.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting boxes up to approximately 30–40 pounds.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
