Registered Nurse - House Supervisor

Job Description

Job Summary:

The House Supervisor provides leadership and coordination for patient care across a large hospital unit, ensuring quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. This role oversees clinical operations, manages staff, and responds to emergent situations to maintain smooth facility functioning.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee patient care delivery and staffing across multiple units, including emergency, surgical, and ICU departments.
• Respond to and manage critical incidents such as codes, patient emergencies, and safety protocols.
• Supervise nursing staff, providing coaching, performance feedback, and ensuring adherence to clinical standards.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, TJC, OSHA, and facility policies.
• Monitor and report sentinel events, risk management issues, and infection control concerns.
• Facilitate communication between departments, coordinate patient transfers, and manage bed/diversion situations.

Qualifications:

• Possess valid NY Registered Nurse license and at least 1 year of inpatient acute care experience.
• Hold current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Demonstrate proficiency in EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Skilled in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and emergency preparedness.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills for managing multiple units.
• Experience managing narcotic diversion and conducting incident investigations.
