Respiratory Therapist - Emergency and Intensive Care
This is a 13-week contract position. The Respiratory Therapist will provide essential respiratory care services to patients requiring emergency care, intensive care, therapeutic treatments, invasive and non-invasive monitoring, diagnostic testing, and patient education for pulmonary and cardiopulmonary disorders. This role involves monitoring and maintaining equipment and participating in quality assurance and improvement activities.
Schedule: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM
Responsibilities:
- Provide respiratory care services to patients in emergency and intensive care settings.
- Perform therapeutic treatments and monitoring for pulmonary and cardiopulmonary disorders.
- Conduct diagnostic testing and patient education related to respiratory health.
- Monitor and maintain respiratory equipment and ensure its proper functioning.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities to enhance service delivery.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- 2+ years of Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) experience is required.
- Must be comfortable with ventilators.
- Proficiency in interpreting EKGs is required.
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), and NBRC.
- State licensure in Michigan is required.
