Overview Junior Specialist- Calderon Lab . The Department of Bioengineering & Therapeutic Sciences is recruiting a Junior Specialist. The position duties include performing molecular biology techniques (RNA/DNA extraction, PCR, plasmid preparation, basic cloning, NGS library prep, gel electrophoresis), tissue culture, performing basic sequence data analysis, scientific writing, organization of data appropriate to the role in the lab, record keeping and data entry, and shared lab manager/organizational duties. Exceptional candidates will lead their own independent project(s), develop new ideas, be familiar with the literature, and participate in procurement of funds where appropriate. Position Description Junior Specialist- Calderon Lab. The Department of Bioengineering & Therapeutic Sciences is recruiting for a Junior Specialist. The role includes performing molecular biology techniques as listed above, data management, and supporting laboratory operations. Exceptional candidates will contribute to independent projects and literature familiarity, and may participate in securing funds where appropriate. Required Qualifications A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent degree) or at least four years of research experience. A bachelor’s degree may be in progress if the expected completion date will be before the start of the position.
