Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Adaptive Physical Education or Physical Education with an endorsement in adapted PE (as required by state regulations)
• Previous experience working as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher, particularly in a school setting
• Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and ability to adapt curriculum to meet diverse student needs
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, parents, and students
• Flexible, creative, and solution-oriented approach to teaching

Responsibilities Include:

• Assessing students’ motor skills and abilities to design appropriate adaptive physical education activities
• Developing and implementing personalized PE lesson plans that support students’ IEP goals
• Monitoring progress and maintaining clear documentation for student performance and participation
• Collaborating with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to ensure coordinated support
• Fostering an inclusive, positive, and motivating environment for all students
